Capital Campaign Goals

The Nathan D. Allsbrooks Youth Enrichment Facility is a State-of-the-Art Athletic Facility that will provide a much-needed safe haven for the youth.

We believe that this facility will not only
honor the legacy of our son Nathan D. Allsbrooks but will also provide a safe and enriching environment for our youth to thrive by offering academic support, mentorship, scholarships and athletic opportunities.

We seek to uplift the community and combat the pervasive issues of gun-violence in a positive and nurturing environment.

The facility will serve as a comprehensive
youth development center, with programs designed to nurture both physical and mental growth.

THE FACILITY WILL FEATURE:

  • Four high school basketball regulation courts (potentially as a practice site to professional teams or where outside basketball programs can benefit, ie, AAU, Tournaments, High School and College showcases, Corporate games and Tournaments for other sports)

  • 1,200 seat retractable bleachers

  • A 250-capacity banquet/multiple purpose room

  • Gun-Violence prevention and life skills mentoring program

  • Academic support programs including computer labs and tutoring

  • Health and Wellness activities

  • Fitness room and concession area

  • Arcade and game room

In addition to the physical space, the facility will host annual basketball tournaments, scholarship programs, and college showcases to help young athletes pursue higher education.

THE PRIMARY GOALS OF THE FACILTY ARE TO:

  • Reduce gun-violence by providing a safe and constructive environment for inner-city youth.

  • Increase high school graduation and college enrollment rates by offering academic tutoring and mentoring.

  • Promote physical fitness and wellness through organized sports and recreational activities.

  • Foster leadership and life skills through mentoring and educational programs.

Our Vison

The Nathan D. Allsbrooks Foundation has allowed us the avenue to shed light in the midst of a dark, bleak world, provide hope to the youth that feel they are in a hopeless situation and strength to parents and families who think they cannot make it.  We have seen many changed lives keeping us acutely aware of how important our efforts really are.

To ensure the long-term success of the Nathan D. Allsbrooks Youth Enrichment Facility, we have established partnerships with local schools, community organizations and businesses.  We plan to sustain the facility through a combination of fundraising events, program fees and continued grant support.  Additionally, we will offer corporate sponsorship opportunities to local and national businesses.

About Us

What do you do when your child’s life has been innocently cut short by a stray bullet while walking home with his friend by the hands of a seventeen-year old boy?  Well, there are many answers to that question. Some parents become mentally, physically and spiritually unable to pick themselves up from the most profound sadness, forever heartbreak, a wound deeper than you can imagine that will always be sketched in your heart.

The Nathan D. Allsbrooks Foundation was established in the loving memory of Nathan D. Allsbrooks; to keep our son spirit alive to fight against gun violence, to provide comfort to parents who have struggled with the loss of their child and to give hope to the children of our communities.  It’s been 16yrs since we have taken this journey to save the lives of our youth.

The Nathan D. Allsbrooks Foundation began August 2008 and was created to impact the lives of inner-city youth in our communities of the illegal possession and use of guns.

Although, the NDAF came to fruition by a senseless shooting of our son, the organization always seek to make the lives of other children and our community more hopeful.  We take a stand not out of frustration and anger but push towards a better tomorrow with, meekness, peace and harmony, and most of all love.  We take a position to increase the growth of the youth in hopes that it will gear them towards a better tomorrow.  We push forward in hopes that they will embrace the knowledge we give them and cultivate positive goals to become prominent world leaders.  We dedicate our time to get the community involved to make a difference in their own community.  We strive to educate the youth about the dangers of gun-violence and making-ill-fated choices and to elevate the love and respect for others.

Our mission with each young person is to create opportunities for personal growth in many areas of their lives. We believe that it is important to reach the youth where they are to tap into the thing that excites them along with working to expose them to new possibilities.

The NDAF goal with each young person is to create opportunities for personal growth in many areas of their lives because their success is our success.
